This should be familiar, kids. It’s a herd of elephants feeding out in a green field. Remember a herd is a group of elephants. You kids are great! Little once did you saw those amazing baby elephants with family. He’s having a great time with his mom.
Can you see those white birds moving about the elephants? They are called cattle egrets; they feed on ticks and flies which they get off the bodies of the elephants–that’s a good deal, right kids? Wow!! today we’re learning so many new things.
That’s a really big elephant, and other there in the distance we can see more of the herd.Check out that one walking carefree across the road. And then there’s this big momma with her little one. Is there something hiding over there in the bush? Oh yeah – it’s an elephant; a big one. I wonder what he’s doing over there.
Great! He is out. Kids, he looks like a young one; his tusks are not as developed as most of the ones we’ve seen. He is still one big elephant, though.
Watch the way he moves his trunk around easily, like an arm. Elephants love grass, but of course, they are very careful about their diet.Do you see how he picks the dry grass and quickly eats it? Wow, I wonder if he’ll ever get full. I bet it tastes yummy to him.
Our friend is still reaching for more grass. Wait…I think he’s moving out.Do you think he’s tiptoeing? I think he is.It’s evening time and our young friend is out having fun with his dinner.Woah! He almost startled me there, bursting out of the bush that way.
Alright kids, there he strolls, off into the push. He’s probably going off to meet his friends.Goodbye now, mr.elephant. I sure had fun watching you.
So, kids, we visited some single elephants as well as some elephant herds today! Hope you had lots of fun today!
